Social justice means family going through a struggle together, finding opportunities together, and living as a family. The start of my freshman year opened a light showing me a family fighting through a struggle trying to get back what they lost. The seniors of that year went through peaceful protest and long conversation to get back their classes and teachers. At that year the juniors, sophomores, and freshman's joined in backing up the seniors knowing that this situation doesn’t stop here it will never end. I’ve learned in class the protest in history and the outcomes revealing the actions showing how opportunities were not given, but earned. This definition change through the perspective of others seeing how they experience it different or have been taught a different way. Changing the definition to help those understand it better. In order to achieve the obstacle getting to social justice we need to past are former self. We need to not only mature, but grow out of the mindset of thinking on are own, but think as if we are together going through the problems together knowing that there's someone that can help them out. A historical obstacle is the mindset of thinking one race is better than the other. Whites in the past were “A more dominant” race thinking that African Americans were the weak. This mindset clouded their judgement leading to events that proved them wrong showing that their was no race better than the other. A current obstacle is education. People today have that goal to go to college furthering their education after high school, but their are those who feel that they are not ready thinking it’s hard. To obtain that future job more learning is needed, students then change their goal and change dream in the future, giving them a hard challenge. The strategies and techniques that help us achieve social justice is overcoming obstacles. Through time we overcome and when we overcome we learn and process things through other perspectives helping us out as a whole. Social justice will advance in my lifetime when i look back in my life i would image the times we united as a family fighting for the same problem fixing it together. A example of people fighting together is the hunger strikers and how they didn't eat for a good amount of time to get a school build to stop the overpopulation of one school and to make a school for the students of this community. My contribution of this problem is speaking out, being a voice to those who won’t speak out to the main problem of domestic violence. My career in the future is unknown for the time being, but my goals are still normal by putting an end to domestic violence i could at least end a problem that is not only affecting my friends, but what is affecting my community.
